3rd Annual Golf Ball Drop Tickets Now Available
The Community Foundation will host their 3rd Annual Golf Ball Drop on Monday, August 3rd at Wetherington Golf & Country Club. The Ball Drop is a feature of the 10th Annual Community Golf Classic. Golf Ball will be released at approximately 6:30PM from a large crain over the practice green at Wetherington. $4,000 in cash prizes will be awarded for the balls closest and furthest from the hole. Foundation Awards Scholarships to Local Students

The Community Foundation has announced the 2009 scholarship winners. More than $50,000 was awarded to area young people to support their educational goals. For more details about each scholarship and its criteria visit the Foundation's website.

Community Golf Classic to Benefit The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty
The North Ridge Realty Group’s 10th Annual West Chester/Liberty Community Golf Classic benefiting The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty will be held on Monday, August 3rd. Presented by Clark-Theders Insurance Agency the Community Golf Classic will feature golf at Wetherington and Four Bridges Golf & Country Clubs. Lunch will be served at both clubs. The post-outing dinner, auction and awards will be held at Wetherington Country Club.

Each year the event attracts 200 golfers while raising more than $75,000 to be granted to non-profits working to improve West Chester and Liberty Townships.

“Without the Community Golf Classic, the Foundation would not be able to provide all of the wonderful grant awards and support to our community,” said Rick Prinz, Chair of the Golf Outing. “The community’s support of the Golf Classic allows the Foundation to expand its work to improve the quality of life for those living and working in West Chester and Liberty Township.”

The cost is $200 per golfer and includes golf, cart, golf shirt, lunch, and dinner. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information or to register for the event, please contact The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty at 513-874-5450.

Foundation Provides more than $12,000 in Grant Awards
The Community Foundation awarded $12,025 in grant awards at their May 2009 Board of Directors Meeting.

Girls & Boys Club of Hamilton was awarded $2,500 to support summer programming for disadvantaged youth from West Chester and Liberty Townships.

Citizens Against Domestic Violence was granted $2,500 to support a Teen Violence Prevention Program to be hosted in the Lakota School District.

$1,400 was granted to Parachute: Special Advocates for Children of Butler County to support their CASA volunteer training program.

West Chester/Union Township Historical Society was awarded $1,000 to support their archaeological dig in West Chester along to Miami-Erie Canal.

Xavier University was awarded $4,625 to provide West Chester law enforcement officers with a Mental Health Response Training Program.

15th Annual Key Event Raises $111,000
The Community Foundation is pleased to announce that the 15th Annual Key Event raised more than $111,000. Thanks to the Key Event Committee, Host Homes, Chefs and many sponsors including Premier Sponsor North Ridge Realty Group and Presenting Sponsor Clark-Theders Insurance Agency, Inc this was the Foundation's most successful Key Event. The event featured a Cocktail Party at the Savannah Center that included a live auction, silent auction, raffles and much, much more. Upon arrival guests drew a key to determine which of the 30 Host Homes they would travel to for dinner. Dinner was prepared by 1 of 30 Chef's who generously donated their time to prepare a wonderful meal for our guests. All proceeds benefit The Community Foundation.

The Community Foundation of West Chester/ Liberty makes charitable giving easy, flexible and effective by connecting donors to the priorities they care about to meet the needs of our communities. Currently, the Foundation manages nearly $6 million in charitable assets, made up of over 80 funds established by individuals, families, and business. The Foundation has helped to facilitate $1.5 million back to our community.
