Kyle J. Babcock Scholarship

The Kyle Babcock Scholarship was established in 2005 in memory of Kyle. He died in May of 2004 as a result of a car accident in his senior year at Bishop Fenwick High School.

According to his soccer coach, "Kyle never settled for being average. He always challenged himself and went the extra mile in everything he did." Kyle left a legacy of excellence and commitment as well as an eternal smile.

The scholarship allows Kyle’s spirit to live on by providing an opportunity to a student who will attend or is attending Bishop Fenwick High School in Middletown.  Through specific examples, the applicant must demonstrate an ability to overcome adversity and an enthusiasm for taking on life’s challenges. Further, the successful applicant will be well rounded academically, athletically and spiritually. The successful applicant must show a commitment to Bishop Fenwick High School. Kyle’s legacy is his joy for life and his enthusiasm for overcoming challenges. These characteristics are the hallmarks of this scholarship, and the students applying should prepare an essay stating the applicant’s qualifications for this award. Further, each applicant should be prepared to appear before the scholarship committee for an oral interview during which the Committee will ask questions about the applicant’s qualifications for this scholarship.
